More of Us Seeing and Hearing

We're so excited by what God has been saying to us and doing with us the past three Sundays! God desires to clean us from all our impurities and give us a new heart and a new Spirit (Ezekiel 36:24-27). We are meant to receive his love - like an extravagant feast laid out for us, like a beautiful Promised Land meant for us to inherit - so we can love others with the love he has given us. This Sunday we will skip ahead in our study of Ephesians and Lorna will speak about Ephesians 3:14-21, which is the blessing I use to close every Sunday meeting. We are planted in love and called to do everything in love, believing that more is possible than we can ask or imagine when we draw on the limitless power of God working in us through the Holy Spirit. We will also celebrate Mother’s Day.

We need more people with us to see what God is doing and hear what God is saying! What greater clarity has he given you about what he is calling us to? What relevant Bible passages or songs has he put on your heart? Are you feeling a greater burden for anyone in our area? (for example, the homeless, the lonely, youth, etc.). Please risk and send me what you’re sensing, even if it’s not fully worked out yet. Jesus means for us to be joined together as many members of his one body and we need one another so he can give us his new heart and his Spirit.

One way to receive greater clarity from God is through fasting, from food and from media. In the past, we have joined other Vineyard churches to fast (especially during COVID), but this is the first time we have called a fast since Jodi and I arrived. We invite you to fast with us for a day or more this week and/or next, and you can learn more about fasting here. You’re also welcome to join us as we worship and pray into these things on Thursday 30th March at 7:30pm at the church office. Let the feasting begin!

Chris Cann's Friend Healed!
Chris’ elderly friend was taken into St. Richard’s on Monday morning in severe pain. Tests showed that she had a cancerous tumour in her small bowel that had burst. Her options were a very lengthy operation (it was highly unlikely she would survive) resulting in an extremely lengthy recovery time, or a high dosage of painkillers and she would just drift away in a few days. She decided to go for the painkillers, but due to a ‘miscommunication’ with her treatment (and the fact that Chris’ small group prayed for her) the same doctor came back yesterday to say that she is a miracle! They really didn’t expect her to be here today, and while the cancer is still there, she is improving enough that they could send her home tomorrow.  Chris explained to the doctor, ‘I admire doctors and what they can do but in this case I give the thanks to God as we had been praying for her.’ He smiled and nodded his head in acceptance!

Let’s continue praying for Chris’ friend: for complete recovery and healing from the tumor, and that she would come to faith in Jesus. Let’s also continue praying in faith for our family and friends who are suffering!
